Election

The election is fast approaching here in the Philippines. Who will be the next Senator, governor, congressman mayor down to the lowest government officials? Are they worthy to be the next officials? That’s a big question to answer. We have too much problem in our country, poverty and crimes are one of a good example. But, why is it happening? It is because of too much corruption we encounter here in our country. Rich became richer, poor became poorer and it leads those who have nothing to commit crimes because of poverty.

One time I’m about to go home standing waiting for a ride, I saw this young kid selling door rag he was crying saying, “Please buy a rag to me, I want to go home”. I was so sad and mad at the same time. Sad because I can’t help him, I have no money left in my pocket except the exact amount for my fare. Mad because of those people and government officials seeing them but were not doing anything to help. Some government official has their own zoo, too many houses and some has their own mansion. How did they own it? It is because they are in the position to do whatever they want. If you watch news you will hear some candidates are giving money to the people. Is it a kind of vote buying? Why is it that during the election period they are giving money? Why not at the time they where in their service or the day people really needed them? This problem will never be solved in our country. Whoever won, I am pretty sure they will still do the same thing.

I hope one day some changes will happen. I believe that there are still good people in our country that are willing to truly and honestly help and serve their countrymen. There are candidates I know who are good while on their service but I know that some will not do well if they win. To my fellow Filipino, we need to be smart on choosing the right candidate that we will vote. If we want to see changes, vote those candidate that we know has done something good in our country. You know who they are and we should vote them. Again, vote wisely to stop the root of our problem. If we end corruption one by one through our one simple vote, our problem will be gone.
